Bedroom – an au pair needs to be provided with her own nicely furnished, private bedroom.

Bathroom – an au pair can share a bathroom with the children, or have her own bathroom / ensuite if space in the home allows. She shouldn’t be expected to share with the host parents.

The au pair is responsible for keeping their bedroom clean and tidy and cleaning their own bathroom if they have one.

If the au pair shares a bathroom with the children, she should also assist in keeping it clean and tidy.

It is very important that the au pair’s bedroom is regarded as their private area and the children are to respect this.
