FAQs - Be an Au Pair or Nanny overseas

Should I be worried about Overseas Au Pair and Nanny Scams?

There are a lot of au pair scams on the internet these days.

The main scams are fake family profiles in highly desirable locations or salaries that seem too good to be true.

These fake families can request direct money transfers from prospective au pairs for any number of reasons.

But even with a number of the ‘ real family profiles’ we have seen a number of problems emerge.

We’ve heard stories of au pairs arriving at their destination only to find the family had chosen another au pair. Or a family had taken ‘fake’ images of the house, children and living conditions. Or the conditions were very different to what was offered, such as reduced pay, inappropriate duties or excessive working hours.

An agency like JCR ensures that you are only ever considering families that are genuine, screened, honest and caring, who are very motivated to host a quality Australian au pair or nanny.
